Solukhumbu Trek

Travelling is a part of enjoyment and knowledge. To travel from one place to another, to explore new spaces and interact with new people are some of my hobbies. My trek to solukhumbu is one of my unforgettable or treasured   moments of my life. When I landed in phaplu airport by Nepal airlines I got really excited. When I landed there, I came to know evidently and practically that our country is fully enclosed by natural beauties and that is why many tourists from far flung countries visit here to see this awesome beauty. About half an hour walk from airport, we reached the heart of Solukhumbu i.e. Sadarmukam Salleri. In the very first day, I visited salleri chialsa PTV. Limited, home for dalits and many more. Next day, I went for trek to salleri chialsa powerhouse i.e. hydropower and also watched the turbines. When I woke up early the next morning, I saw the authentic view of Duthkunda himal. In the very next day, I along with the three staffs from my brother’s office started our trek to Junbesi which was around eight to nine hours’ walk. We started our trek from Salleri-Phaplu-Bagwana-Beni-Khamje and ultimately we reached Jjunbesi at night.
During my trek to Junbesi, I observed many things such as monasteries like Mopunk, Chiyonk and so on. We stayed in Junbesi for a night.
As our destiny was to reach Thupten Choeling Monastery, we finally reached there the next day. I met with many Lamas and Anis and also I shared some of my inner views regarding the place and many more. While coming back from Junbesi, four of us took rest in one of the restaurants in Beni. While walking, I also met many tourists. I saw rhododendron (national flower), which was really mind blowing. I immediately took many snaps of it. We walked and finally reached to Salleri at around 5 p.m. I was so tired that it cannot even be explained in words. When we slept at 9, we heard loud voices of people outside. When many people came and called us we went outside to see and found out that it was fire. I immediately packed my bags and was ready to go up the hill. Most of the houses made up of woods started burning. Many people lost their shelters, clothes, grains and many more. It was a great tragedy for them and that incident will remain in my memory forever.
In this way, my trek to solukhumbu was, is and will always be a remarkable moment of my life. I stayed there for ten long days and observed that people were very friendly and supportive. Children from very tender age worked from dawn to dusk to satisfy their hunger for meager wages. Yet, they lived a happy and peaceful life. That is why, it is said that village life is much better than city life.  There are many beautiful places in our motherland whiche all should try to visit. We all are fully responsible to make our country better.
